根据the documentation：

void send($string) - sends $string to the SSH server, returns nothing
Sends the string to the SSH server.

所以不要检查 return 值，只需删除 send():

之后的 or die .. 部分

$ssh->send("passwd");   # <-- no error code is returned here..
